The largest and most beautiful mountain lake in Tyrol rests majestically 940 metres above sea level between the Rofan and Karwendel Mountains. And it offers both: emerald green water and impressive peaks. And, there is also the type of air that people want to breathe in deeply.
You’ll notice quickly that Achensee Lake wakes people up! Of course, you can laze the time away on the banks of the lake or read a good book, but at some point you’ll get itchy feet. By the way, lazing around is much nicer afterwards.

As the gateway to the Karwendel Mountains, the lake opens up to the largest nature reserve in Austria with its ancient mountain forests, Alpine meadows and ravines.
