Kühlungsborn offers relaxation times three – and that’s not only because it consists of three districts. A bright, endless, sandy beach, expansive blue sea and deep green forests are just one triad. Relaxing, discovering, and experiencing are the other.
The Ostseeallee, which connects the east and west parts of the city and touches the city forest, is a witness of the tradition of the seaside resort. Like a string of pearls, there are villas here from the beginning of the 20th century all in a row. At that time, the first bathing guests came to Gut Fulgen, Brunshaupten (East), and Arendsee (West).
The City of Külungsborn only came into being in 1938, but Kühlungsborn has been a seaside resort since 1896. Symbolised in its coat of arms to this day, three flying seagulls represent the three districts, which have a great deal in common, but still have their own charm.
If you like to stroll through the shops and into the evening as well, then Strandstrasse in the east has more to offer. The west has the Art Hall with interesting travelling exhibitions.
And with the city forest, the middle is very green. The resort architecture in Kühlungsborn is also varied. The facades and balconies of the east are more playful and Mediterranean and have a more powerful effect than the west.
