Binz is the best-known seaside resort on the island of Rügen and is situated by one of the most beautiful inlets - the Prorer Wiek - in a mild and stimulating climate with fresh iodized air.

The town is in the eastern part of the Baltic Sea with its picturesque bay and kilometres of fine sandy beach. It also faces the idyllic Schmachter Lake. It is ideal for fruitful peace and relaxation in nature. To the south, the seaside resort is bordered by the extensive and densely wooded Granitz with the imposing ‘Jagdschloss’. There is great variety for hikers, nature fans, and cyclists.

Briefly about the history: Right in the middle of the heyday of German seaside resorts, Binz developed into a centre of art and culture on the island of Rügen. Today, former times are being revived and refreshed with joy and flair.

It has impressive resort architecture, an imposing pier, numerous cultural offers and very diversified gastronomy. And, last but not least, there are attractive miles of strolling with numerous shops and cafes.
