Rügen has a multitude of events to offer, from the famous Störtebecker theatre festival to the pier festivals of the Baltic Sea resorts.
An excerpt from the annual events calendar:
- Störtebeker Theatre Festival
Among pirates. Wonderfully located directly at Jasmund Bodden below the castle, the natural stage of Ralswiek provides an impressive backdrop for the Störtebeker theatre festival. It has become known far beyond the borders of Rügen and each year, thousands of visitors fall under the spell of the festival.
- Putbus Theatre
Classicistic gem. The Putbus theatre, located in the residence town of the same name, has a year-round program with plays, cabaret, operetta, and children's theatre.
- Spa House Hall Binz
The historical spa house hall from the 20th century is one of the highlights on the island of Rügen. There are events here regularly from variety shows to concerts.
- Rügener Cabaret Regatta
The finest of cabaret. Since 1997, the Cabaret Regatta has developed into one of the most popular series of events. Each year in late summer (end of August/September), the greats of German cabaret provide proper training for your laughing muscles.
- Seebühne Hiddensee
Theatre on treasure island. The small but fine Seebühne Hiddensee offers puppet theatre with imagination and humour - not only for young people.
- Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Theatre Festival
Wonderful classical organ concerts in the beautiful town church. There are symphony concerts in barns and music festivals in castle gardens or warehouses. The Mecklenburg-Vorpommern theatre festival presents a program at a great variety of venues, which is worth seeing and hearing.
- Putbus Theatre Festival
Princely event. Each year around Pentecost, Putbus provides the backdrop for the Putbus theatre festival, which will convince you with classical music, operettas, or symphony concerts.
- Theatre Summer at Kap Arkona
In the garden under the lighthouse. In July and August of each and every year, entertaining theatre is offered as part of the theatre summer at Kap Arkona.
