Fun on the slopes at Lake Achensee
Around the Achensee there are skiing areas with a total of 30 lifts and 58 km of pistes to enjoy. In Achenkirch on the German border is the Christlum skiing area with pistes starting at an altitude of 1,850 metres. Guaranteeing good snow cover during your holiday.
Several chair lifts, an extensive network of pistes and its own long toboggan run ensure a variety of winter holiday amusements. And once the skis come off, there is a tempting range of après-ski options to enjoy as you see out the day. Another ideal place for skiing is the village of Maurach at the base of the Rofan cable car. With 14 km of pistes and 32 km of cross-country trails, this area also offers ideal conditions for a great day on the slopes. The western side of the Achensee around Pertisau also has tempting pistes and cross-country trails aplenty.
Winter holidays in Kleinwalsertal
The Kleinwalsertal skiing area extends across the entire valley and guarantees endless skiing fun in both Germany and Austria. The season in Kleinwalsertal/Oberstdorf runs from early December to the start of May, with good snow cover generally assured. With Kleinwalsertal pistes stretching for 120 km, and with various levels of difficulty, there’s plenty of room for winter-sports lovers to live out their dreams.
Those who prefer cross-country skiing are also well catered for, with 45 km of trails in and around the valley. Reluctant skiers can whizz down the slopes on a choice of five toboggan runs of between 150 and 1,500 metres instead. The perfect setting for every winter traveller on skis, board or sledge.
Winter fun in Werfenweng for young and old
The perfect place to try out the family-friendly skiing area is just 200 metres away from the hotel. In summer, you can thunder down the mountainside in a cart or on a zip wire, but in winter you can sweep down in a more gentle way. A total of 9 lifts and 45 km of pistes make it the ideal location for beginners and more advanced skiers alike.
You can explore the unspoilt nature of Salzburger Land calmly and quietly on a variety of cross-country skiing trips or idyllic carriage rides, taking in breathtaking panoramic views of the peaks of the Hochkönig or the Dachstein mountain range.
