There’s also tobogganing, winter hiking, ice-skating or horse-drawn sleigh rides – plenty of ways to experience pure winter fun!

Skiing and snowboarding

Families and real winter-sports fans will love these 27 km of expertly groomed slopes. Enjoy exhilarating, fast-paced ski runs, weave your way leisurely down the mountain or blow off some steam at the snowboard park and at New School Skiing. The Werfenweng ski resort is small but beautiful and has something to suit everyone.

Ikarus gondola cable car – Skiing fun on 22 km of slopes

The majority of the Werfenweng ski resort is easy to reach from the centre via the free ski bus. Enjoy stunning ski runs at 1,830 to 1,000 m. With 17 km of red runs, 2 km of blue runs and 3 km of black runs, pure skiing fun is guaranteed. Snowboarders and freeskiers can blow off some steam in the fun park.

Dorfbahn Rosnerköpfl – ride the cable car straight to the resort

The new ‘Dorfbahn Rosnerköpfl’ cable car, it is now possible to reach the ski resort from right next to Bergresort Werfenweng – no need for a car or a bus. Just like summer, winter here also promises some brilliant panoramas. As a guest of the Bergresort Werfenweng, the Rosnerköpfl Bergbahn is free of charge for pedestrians in winter.

New kids’ snowpark by the ‘Ikarus’ cable car

Eight themed routes, a chill-out area, a toboggan run and a sheltered conveyor lift spread across 8 ha in the Zaglau Arena in the main ski resort. Highlights: Parallel Race, Speed Race, Wave Run, Forest Run, Snake Run, Ninja Warrior Track, Fun Jungle Run, Graffiti Park, Graffiti Chillout Area.

Snowpark Sunny Kids and Star Kids right in the village centre

Children’s ski school with a kids’ area measuring over 5,000 m², three children’s conveyor lifts, one children’s carousel, children’s lounge, lunchtime supervision, eight-seater gondola cable car as a ski-school lift, magic show and much more.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides

Get snuggled up in warm blankets, explore the snow-covered winter landscape and discover Werfenweng’s romantic side.

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiing is one of the healthiest sports there is, as it exercises the whole body. The extensive trail network in Werfenweng provides plenty of options for both classic leisure skiers and ambitious skaters.

Paid cross-country skiing trails (free of charge with the Werfenweng Card):

Wengerau trail: 9 km long, starts right in the town centre, difficulty: medium
Zaglauloipe: 5 km long, directly in the village centre, easy

Winter hiking

A range of winter hiking trails offering stunning panoramas that you won’t be forgetting in a hurry.

Paragliding

Even in winter it's worth marvelling at Werfenweng from above and feeling "bird-free". Between December and Easter, the professionals offer tandem flights. All those who have acquired a taste for it can learn to fly themselves in Werfenweng. Take-off: The Bischling.

Tobogganing

A range of toboggan runs makes for plenty of fun on two runners. Ride the cable cars up or hike through snow-covered forests. It’s definitely worth it for the sweeping descents from the top.
