Straubinger Ensemble receives interior award at the LIV Hospitality Design Awards
Bad Gastein, May 2, 2024 - Following the successful opening of the Grand Hotel Straubinger and the Hotel Badeschloss last year, both Travel Charme hotels are delighted to have received the LIV Hospitality Design Award in the "Interior Design - Living Space" category. BWM Designers & Architects and the team led by Erich Bernard are responsible for the careful revitalization of the historic rooms.
Our society is constantly redefining space and place. The hospitality industry is responding by embracing these changes, whether through new hospitality concepts or by focusing on new lifestyles, designs and special experiences. Hotel and interior design are key factors in implementing contemporary designs and styles. They have a direct impact on guest satisfaction and set the framework and standards for the level of service, quality and comfort that guests expect.
The LIV Hospitality Design Awards recognize the best achievements and creative approaches in interior and exterior architecture, landscape design and sustainability in hospitality design. This year, two Travel Charme Group projects won an award in the "Interior Design - Living Space" category.
Awards for the Straubing ensemble
In the category "Historic & Heritage", the Grand Hotel Straubinger in the spa town of Bad Gastein was the winner: the jury was most impressed by the guiding principle of the extensive refurbishment "Working with the layers of the past" and the successful combination of the history of the time-honored building with modern construction elements. BWM Designers & Architects, which was responsible for the revitalization work, developed an open hotel concept for the listed building, which takes into account the building's uniqueness and yet as an ensemble with the neighbouring Hotel Badeschloss. The result earned the traditional hotel the coveted prize.
Thanks to the playful implementation of the bathing culture, the neighboring Hotel Badeschloss, also designed by BWM Designers & Architects, received the international award in the "Hotel - Midscale Lifestyle" category. Following a comprehensive revitalization, 102 rooms and suites are now spread across the historic building and the modern new tower. The themed rooms and the three-storey Alpine Swim Club reflect the various facets of bathing culture. The architects have created a place that sees itself as a meeting place and modern lifestyle hotel with casual bathhouse charm.
Karl J. Pojer, CEO of DSR Hotel Holding, comments: "I am delighted that the two hotels were able to win LIV Hospitality Design Awards so soon after their opening. Bringing together the best of the past and present to create new places of well-being for our guests time and time again is one of the best aspects of our work as hosts. Congratulations to everyone involved!"
