21.03.2022 | Sascha Kemmerer, star chef at the Ifen Hotel in Kleinwalsertal, succeeds in international cooking competition and wins Culinary Competition on Mauritius.
For the 15th edition of the prestigious "Constance Festival Culinaire 2022" at the Constance Belle Mare Plage on Mauritius, star chefs from around the world were invited to showcase their expertise in a variety of disciplines.
After a week full of cooking competitions, the winners of the Culinary Competition have been determined: Sascha Kemmerer, chef of the star restaurant "Kilian Stuba", together with Vickram Soobrun (Constance Belle Mare Plage) and Kritesh Halkory (Constance Prince Maurice) can declare a victory in the Culinary Competition for their team. With this, Sascha Kemmerer has won the international competition for the second time since his first victory in 2019.
"It was a great pleasure for me to cook together with Vickram Soobrun and Kritesh Halkory at this year's 'Constance Festival Culinaire 2022' in this fantastic location. I am bringing many exciting experiences, great memories and new friendships back with me to Kleinwalsertal. Our team complemented each other perfectly and we gave it our all. We are therefore very pleased with this great result," says Sascha Kemmerer.
Ifen Hotel Director Ralph Hosbein is also enthusiastic: "Sascha has once again shown that he can definitely hold his own amongst other international star chefs. His passion, creative modernity and classic elegance shines through, even in a team comprised of partners previously unknown to him."
The international jury this year again consisted of industry leaders from around the world: Bérangère Loiseau (Vice-President Groupe Bernard Loiseau) from France, Patrick Bertron (2* Michelin and heir to "Loiseau spirit") also from France, Davy Tissot (Bocuse D'or winner 2021) also from France, Enrico Bernardo (Best Sommelier in the World 2004) from Italy, Joe Warwick (food writer and restaurant critic) from the UK, Orjan Johannessen (Bocuse D'or winner 2015) from Norway and Vieira Serge (2* Michelin chef at “Serge Vieira Restaurant”; “Festival Culinaire” winner of 2011) from France.
Sascha Kemmerer also received the Michelin star for the "Kilian Stuba" this year for the tenth time in a row. In honor of this special anniversary, two springtime "Six Hands Dinner Evenings" will be held at the "Kilian Stuba" in April. Heino Huber and Stefan Jäckel will kick
