The London Design Award goes to Bad Gastein Straubinger ensemble wins platinum at the London Design Awards
Bad Gastein, 14 June 2024 - The London Design Award goes to Bad Gastein! Two hotels from the Travel Charme Group impressed the jury and were awarded platinum in two hotel categories. The Straubinger Grand Hotel impressed with its successful renovation in the "Interior Design - Historic Restoration" category and the neighbouring Hotel Badeschloss won in the "Interior Design - Hotels & Resorts" category thanks to its successful revitalisation of the spa culture. BWM Designers & Architects from Vienna are responsible for the interior design of both hotels.
The London Design Awards is a prestigious international competition that recognises and rewards excellence in exceptional design and creative projects. The contest is part of the Design 100 Awards, a global network of design competitions organised in various cities around the world, including New York, London and Sydney.
In the Interior category, the London Design Awards recognise successful interior designs that enhance the perception of style. An interior should be more than just painted in a stunning colour - flexibility, harmonising components that are perfectly coordinated, serenity and coordinating impressions play an essential role.
International awards for the Straubinger ensemble
The guiding principle of the comprehensive refurbishment, "working with the layers of the past", and the successful combination of modern building elements with historical parts of the building, convinced the international jury of the London Design Awards of the Straubinger Grand Hotel, which opened last year. With the open room concept in the listed building, the Travel Charme hotel, whose revitalisation work was carried out by BWM Designers & Architects, won platinum in the "Interior Design - Historic Restoration" category.
The neighbouring Hotel Badeschloss, for which BWM Designers & Architects is also responsible, also received a Platinum Award in the "Interior Design - Hotels & Resorts" category. Following extensive revitalisation, the charm of the former spa culture can still be felt throughout the hotel. The 102 rooms and suites, which are divided between the historic building and the modern new tower, playfully reflect the different aspects of great spa culture. The three-storey Alpine Swim Club not only reflects the various facets of bathing culture, but also allows guests to relax and enjoy themselves in peaceful tranquillity.
Karl J. Pojer, CEO of DSR Hotel Holding, is delighted: "I am very pleased about the second design award for the Straubinger ensemble this year. This recognition confirms the successful revitalisation of the Straubinger Grand Hotel and Hotel Badeschloss on the one hand and the successful interplay of old and new on the other. The result has created two fantastic places for our guests where they can only feel at home. Congratulations to everyone involved!"
