SLOPE FUN – SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING
Winter in Bad Gastein is an absolute must for skiing enthusiasts! The 15th Alpine Ski World Championships already took place here in 1958. There are 200 kilometers of slopes waiting to be explored by you on a board or skis in the Sportgastein ski area. For even more skiing enjoyment in the Gastein Valley, you'll find slopes in the Graukogel ski area, as well as in the ski circuits Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel and Dorfgastein-Großartal. Your equipment is securely stored in the in-house heated ski room. The on-site ski rental services such as Skiverleih Lederer, Sport 2000, and Hervis are happy to ensure that you are well-equipped for your winter adventure.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING & WINTER HIKING
Graceful instead of speedy: At over 1,500 meters above sea level in Sportgastein and on the cross-country ski trails in Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, and Dorfgastein, one can glide serenely through the winter wonderland. In this paradise for cross-country skiers, ideal conditions for short or extended tours are provided.
Additionally, more than 100 kilometers of groomed winter hiking trails invite you to winter adventures without the need for skis. A special highlight awaits you during the summit breakfast in Sportgastein. The start of the day turns into true summit bliss with a guided hike and a cable car ride.
TOBOGGANING FUN & SLEIGHING EXCURSION
Fun awaits on the toboggan run in Bad Gastein on two runners. Prepared toboggan runs start at Bellevue Alm or Schlossalm (natural toboggan run "Aeroplan"), enticing both young and old to a thrilling ride through the Alpine landscape.
A truly special sledding experience awaits you in Sportgastein. Instead of horses or reindeer, huskies are harnessed to the sleds here. Nevertheless, you'll feel as joyful as a child on Santa Claus's sleigh.
