In the middle of a natural paradise
Through lush green meadows, past blue mountain lakes and up to lofty heights. In the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park, Bad Gastein is the ideal starting point for hikes of all kinds. A climb to the highest Grasberg in Europe, relaxing on the Poserhöhe or swinging on the suspension bridge on the Stubnerkogel – the surrounding area offers countless destinations worth exploring. During the winter season, four ski areas with around 200 kilometers of slopes at an altitude of up to 2,300 m attract visitors. Offers for snowshoeing, sledding as well as the snow park with fun slope provide pure winter fun.
Built close to the water
The imposing waterfall, which rushes over three steps, a total of about 350 meters across the village into the valley, already impressed painters and poets. Feel the pleasant effect of the 17 ancient thermal springs in one of the thermal spas of the village or relax in the Straubinger Spa or in the Alpine Swim Club.
