It's getting Strobl-ig – Bergresort Werfenweng opens the new Stroblhaus after renovation

Werfenweng, 10 January 2024 After a twelve-week closure phase, the time had come: the new Stroblhaus opened its doors to hotel guests and external visitors on 22 December 2023. The Stroblhaus, which has been in existence since 1624, has been renovated and extended since the end of September. This has created a bridge between tradition and modernity.

The Stroblhaus

Part of the Bergresort Werfenweng, the Stroblhaus is located directly in front of the four-star superior hotel and delights hotel guests and external visitors on two floors with a lively, new bar area and traditional, intimate, small parlours for dining and socialising. Visitors to the hotel's own conference centre opposite can also enjoy the evening together either on the terrace or exclusively inside the parlour in a traditional, yet modernised, relaxed and inviting ambience. The Stoblhaus can also be booked exclusively or by the parlour for weddings, birthdays and other occasions. Sufficient parking spaces are available for optimal accessibility.

The renovation

The historic part of the Stroblhaus has been "spruced up" and extended to include two cosy dining rooms on the ground floor - so there is now room for around 100 guests in the rustic, cosy part of the Stroblhaus. The new, modern part is now home to the "Stroblbar" with 20 seats and some seats directly at the bar, as well as a new, spick and span Stroblhaus kitchen. Relaxed at high tables, guests can watch the bartender prepare their favourite cocktail or listen to the sizzling in the kitchen. Whether a glass of wine from the Egermann winery or a glass of beer from Stiegl-Gut Wildshut (Austria's 1st beer estate): At the Stroblhaus, selected partners provide regional, seasonal and local specialities. The menu impresses with a mix of down-to-earth, regional and savoury dishes, some with a new and modern interpretation and, above all, very high quality.  In addition to the typical Austrian Wiener Schnitzel, there is now also a baked chicken salad "Austria meets Japan", which impresses both visually and in terms of flavour and inspires both the eye and the palate. Guests can also enjoy the Raclette du Vailais in the dining room: fresh Wenger crusty bread with farmhouse bacon and organic cheese from the region - freshly scraped. The secret tip: The Chef's choice - 'The cigar afterwards' chocolate cream, wafer batter, chocolate dust, shot of fruit schnapps from the FREIHOF distillery - presented in a surprising way.

The opening evening was characterised by a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, good food and drink. The new Stroblhaus is ready for another 400 years of hospitality.
